INTRODUCTION
Descente Ltd. is a Japanese sports clothing and accessories company, first formed in 1935. The brand has a strong presence in Japan and East Asia and is expanding globally, including Southeast Asia markets like Singapore.
The project aimed to migrate the client's e-commerce platform that facilitates the buying, selling, and delivery of their customers in Japan.
-
CLIENT CHALLENGES
A key challenge was integrating backend systems like Payment Gateway, OMS, WMS, ERP, Inventory, PIM, and Point System. Seamless interoperability was critical to enhancing customer experience and business performance. Descente faced significant hurdles with their legacy e-commerce system, which was overburdened and underperforming. Key pain points included:
- Sluggish Checkout flow performance
- Inefficiencies in Stock and Point system management
- Unreliable third-party integrations.
The client sought a seamless transition to SFCC to address these issues, ensure high availability of third-party APIs (e.g., payment and logistics providers), optimize UI/UX for better user engagement, and fully exploit SFCC’s advanced sales support capabilities within its ecosystem.
-
OUR SOLUTIONS
KIMEI Global implemented a comprehensive set of technical solutions and enhancements:
- Developed a custom Product Information Management (PIM) tool with CRUD functionalities, batch Import/Export capabilities, and seamless SFCC integration for real-time data synchronization.
- Optimized the Checkout flow by refactoring backend processes and reducing latency.
- Ensured robust integration with third-party systems like Crosspoint for user and status data synchronization.
- Established bidirectional data pipelines connecting Order, Stock, and Product data to SCS, OMS, WMS, and Amazon S3 for end-to-end visibility.
- Integrated a multi-channel Payment Gateway supporting Credit Card, Cash on Delivery, and Convenience Store payments.
- Enabled PreOrder and Midnight Stock Linkage features for dynamic inventory updates.
- Enhanced UI/UX performance through responsive design and front-end optimization, reducing load times by up to 30%.
